Hi there, fellow Terrarian! After what felt like a lifetime of digging, dodging, and dying in some truly embarrassing ways, I finally held the Zenith in my hands. And let me tell you—even here in 2026, with all the updates and mods, this sword still feels like the ultimate “I win” button. If you’ve ever looked at that recipe and thought “nope, not today,” I get it. But stick with me, because once you slice through the Moon Lord in seconds, the grind will make complete sense.

The Zenith isn’t just a weapon; it’s a statement. With a brutal 190 melee damage and a 14% critical hit chance, even before you slap the Legendary modifier on it, everything melts. The real magic happens when you swing it, though. Swords from your past—literally the sprites of the weapons you collected—go flying toward any enemy within 20 tiles of your cursor, carving them up in a beautiful, chaotic light show. Autoswing just makes it sillier. But here’s the catch: you need to collect ten other swords first. Yep, ten. Some are stupidly easy, and some will test your patience like a goblin army at your front door.
I’ll break down the whole shopping list, because when I started my quest I honestly had no idea what I was getting myself into. I’ve grouped them into pre-Hardmode and Hardmode, because once the Wall of Flesh falls, things get spicy.
Pre-Hardmode: the slightly less crazy half
These four can be done before Hardmode, so I recommend knocking them out early while enemies still have mercy.
-
Copper Shortsword – And yes, I laughed out loud. The very same tiny sword you start with (or craft from 5 Copper Bars at an Iron/Lead Anvil) is part of the most powerful weapon in existence. If you’re like me and immediately trashed it for a wooden broadsword, don’t worry, crafting a new one takes two minutes. Still, the irony is delicious. ??
-
Starfury – This one made me rediscover my dislike for harpies. It sits in Skyware Chests up on Floating Islands, or inside Azure and Sky Crates if fishing is your thing. I built a skybridge that stretched halfway across the world, and by the end, I never wanted to see another cloud again.
-
Enchanted Sword – Oh boy. That Sword in Stone background object. You can find it randomly underground, but the real way is an Enchanted Sword Shrine. I dug up half a continent, found three shrines, and got nothing until the fourth. Pray to RNGesus early.
-
Bee Keeper – Queen Bee is a pushover by this stage, and the 33% drop chance is pretty forgiving. Just make sure you have a decent arena in the jungle. The bees this sword summons are adorable, but we’re here for ingredients.
Hardmode: now the actual work begins
These six swords turned me from a cheerful explorer into a sleep-deprived loot goblin. You have been warned.
-
Terra Blade – The crafting tree here is a whole saga. You’ll need a True Excalibur, a True Night’s Edge, and a Broken Hero Sword from Mothron during a Solar Eclipse. I spent an embarrassing amount of nights praying for an eclipse, then panicking because Mothron hits like a truck. Totally worth it for that green beam of justice.
-
Seedler – Plantera drop with a low 11% chance. I had to defeat her four times, and every battle felt personal. If you don’t have a good arena, you’ll understand why she’s terrifying. Bring plenty of buffs and dodging skills.
-
Horseman’s Blade – The Pumpkin Moon event. Pumpking drops it at a rate between 1.56% and 12.5% depending on the wave. I screamed when it finally dropped because I’d forgotten what sleep felt like. It’s a pumpkin-headed gamble, but the homing jack-o-lanterns it spawns are a lot of fun.
-
Influx Waver – Martian Madness, here we come. The Martian Saucer is the culprit, with a 16.66% drop chance. Those saucers are no joke; one stray laser and you’re toast. I built a sky arena and still died… a lot. But seeing my enemies get skewered by floating swords after crafting Zenith made the PTSD bearable.
-
Star Wrath – From the Moon Lord himself, 11% chance. This is where you realize you’ll be fighting the Moon Lord at least twice, because the next one is also from him.
-
Meowmere – The meme cat sword. Also an 11% drop from Moon Lord. The rainbow cats that fly out when you attack are ridiculous, and I love them. Expect to farm Moon Lord three or more times. My advice: build a nurse hut near your arena and spam healing.
After you’ve hoarded all ten, head to any Mythril or Orichalcum Anvil and watch them combine into the Zenith. There’s no special animation, but trust me, your heart will do a little flip.

I won’t lie—when I first swung the Zenith, I may have gotten a little misty-eyed. Everything I’d fought, mined, and collected was right there on screen, absolutely obliterating a random blue slime. And then a boss. And everything else. It’s not just damage, it’s a fireworks show of nostalgia and sheer overpowered joy.
So if you’re on the fence about crafting the Zenith in 2026, just go for it. Sure, your sanity will hang by a thread, but that’s Terraria, baby. Whether you’re showing off to friends or just wanting to turn every boss into confetti, this sword is the crown jewel. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to rename my character “Sword God” and never unequip this beauty again. ✨⚔️
